The renovation of this house situated on the shores of the picturesque Ottawa River, had the primary goal to transform the existing house to accommodate a few new spaces and modernize its aesthetic appeal from the exterior. Consequently turning it into a stylish and comfortable contemporary retreat.

The first part of the mandate was to create new floor plan that would enhance everyday living in the existing rooms, as well as adding a new office space and bathroom on the main floor. The new additional square footage to be composed of extra space for a mud room and new attached garage. Changes such as new open risers staircase, and new and additional widows allowed for better sight lines on the changing seasonal vistas that the river offers.

Secondly, to study the existing buildings and new addition components, to turn it into one coherent envelope for an overall flow from the exterior.
